Columbia University has opened its doors for Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to speak and participate in a question and answer session with university faculty and students next Monday. Columbia President Lee Bollinger says he will introduce Ahmadinejad, and will "challenge" his denial of the Holocaust, his call for the destruction of Israel, and other topics. Unbelievable... that legitimizes the notion that the Holocaust itself is even up for debate. How sad.
Of course, this is Columbia University. You might not be aware, but Columbia doesn't allow it's students the opportunity to enroll in the ROTC. They banned the ROTC from campus in 1969. The majority of students polled in 2003 wanted it reinstated, but President Bollinger led the charge that kept the ban in place.
This is also the same Columbia University that this week canceled a speech by Jim Gilchrist, founder of the Minuteman Project.
