Spirit of 1776

One of the things that upset me most about the last few years of Republican control in DC was their refusal to limit spending. They looked more like tax-and-spend liberals than any resembling conservatives.

But did anyone really believe things would change in a Democratic Congress? Of course not! In the defense spending bill that came out of committee yesterday, members from both sides of the aisle attached 1,776 earmarks.

1776... just makes you feel patriotic, doesn't it?
